The French government has sent military aid and vehicles to carry the wounded to the island of Mayotte after a strong storm hit.
French President Emmanuel Macron, who spoke about this serious situation, ordered the dispatch of 250 vehicles including fire engines and ambulances.
He sent security forces and another part of the rescue team to the island, which has hosted many Somali migrants over the years.
The dead and injured have not yet been officially announced, although there are reports in some places showing the extent of the damage.
