French Prime Minister Michel Banier is set to resign this afternoon, hours after his government fell after losing a vote of confidence.

Barnier’s government fell after MPs voted against the prime minister, just three months after he was appointed by President Macron.

The Prime Minister will have other duties as President Macron will appoint another Prime Minister in the coming weeks.

The votes taken last night by the members of the French parliament are the first to overthrow the French government in more than 60 years.

This conflict, which resulted from the budget dispute, is fueling the political crisis that the country is facing.
