Somalia PM Hamsa Abdi Barre praised the role of people with disabilities in society in the commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities

The Federal Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamsa Abdi Barre, participated in the commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated every year on this day all over the world.

The Prime Minister said that the Government has approved the Disability Act and is committed to protecting the rights of Somalis with disabilities.

“I appreciate the role of people with disabilities in the development of different parts of the society. I want to state here that the government is committed to finding a solution to the conflict, fighting Al-Shabaab, and to make progress in our country.” said the Prime Minister.

Mr. Hamsa pointed out that in the coming years people with disabilities will have access to the most easily constructed pathways, and they will participate in the country’s politics, independent elections, he also said that the current national change plan is the basis of how to them an inclusive service.
