Last night, Somalia Federal Government Council of Ministers held an emergency meeting last night, approved the Independent Commission for National Elections and Borders.
The Board of Elections and Boundaries is a national committee that will be responsible for managing the elections at different levels in Somalia and to implement one person one vote.
The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre, who said that his government is committed to restoring the people’s right to choose the leader.
Members of the Independent Committee for National Elections and Borders consist of 18 members.
Electoral issues have been one of the reasons for the conflict between the Federal Government and some Regional Governments
