Both Houses of the Somali Parliament took another important step for the elections

Members of both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia approved the National Elections Act in a joint session today.

The joint session of the two Houses of the Somali Parliament was held today by the Chairman of the Lower House of Parliament, Adan Mohamed Noor (Madobobe), together with the Chairman of the Upper House, Abdi Hashi Abdullahi and the deputies of the two houses.

The Chairman of the Transitional Committee of the two Houses of the Parliament in charge of preparing the Electoral Code, MP Mahdi Mohamed Guled,first shared the report of the third reading of the National Electoral Code with the members of the two Houses of Parliament.

After that, the members of the two houses of the National Parliament who voted for this law were approved by 169 members, two members refused, and one member remained silent, according to Speaker Sheikh Adan Madobe who announced the results of the vote.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Member of Parliament Ali Yusuf Ali-Hoosh, who made a speech at the meeting, thanked the two Houses of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia for approving the National Elections Act.
