Somalia , Kenya signed an agreement on security and cooperation.

Somalia Federal Government President Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud concluded his working trip to Kenya, where he had a meeting with his Kenyan counterpart, Mr. William Ruto.

They discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations between both countries in terms of , security issues in the Horn of Africa region and cooperation in security and business development which resulted in the following points.

1. Promotion of trade and investment relations between the two countries, underlining the importance of facilitating the movement of goods and services.

2.cooperation between the two countries in regional affairs, taking advantage of regional organizations such as EAC, IGAD and COMESA.

3.Strengthening security cooperation and the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), which will begin in January 2025.

4.Strengthening the support of the international community in building the capacity of the Somali Armed Forces, to prepare for the transition of ATMIS and AUSSOM and to support Somalia in its representation in the United Nations Security Council, in the years 2025-2026.

Lastly President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud thanked President William Ruto and the people of Kenya for the warm welcome they gave him and his delegation.
