The High Court of Kenya on Tuesday rejected a request by the lawyers of the Deputy President of Kenya to stop the Senate from debating a motion to impeach him after the parliament voted to impeach him last week.
The motion to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was approved by the parliament by 281-44 votes and sent to the senate which starts today.
Gachagua is facing impeachment charges over corruption and other charges, including allegations that he supported anti-government protests in June.
