Somalia and India Strengthen Bilateral Relations

New Delhi, India — Somalia and India have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations following high-level talks held in New Delhi.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Abdisalam Abdi Ali, on Monday held a bilateral meeting with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs.

The discussions focused on deepening cooperation between Somalia and India and expanding collaboration in key sectors including trade, education, and healthcare. Minister Abdisalam expressed Somalia’s appreciation for India’s continued support for the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and long-term stability.

Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and to implement practical measures aimed at translating their cooperation into tangible outcomes, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing mutual interests and strengthening diplomatic ties.
