The Somali Police Force has confirmed the arrest of a man accused of fatally stabbing his wife in the Garasbaaley area of Mogadishu.
The suspect, identified as Abshir Sheikh Abdisaalan Mohamed, was taken into custody by officers at the Garasbaaley Police Station shortly after the incident. Authorities allege that he used a knife to kill his wife during a domestic dispute.
According to the Commander of the Banadir Regional Police Division, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Mahdi Omar Mumin, the suspect is currently in police custody and will soon be presented before the competent court for prosecution in accordance with the law.
The motive behind the alleged crime has not yet been disclosed, and investigations are ongoing.
The Somali Police have reiterated their commitment to upholding justice and ensuring that those responsible for such acts face legal consequences.
