The Federal Parliament of Somalia is today electing the members of Somalia to represent in the African Community Parliament.

This election is important for the role and appearance of Somalia in the cooperation of the East African region, as this will be the first time that the country participates fully in the Parliament of the East African Community.

The number of candidates registered for the contest is eighteen (18) candidates, while the seats contested are nine (9) members.

In the past hour, there has been a debate between the MPs and Senators who are voting in Mogadishu, so that every candidate can achieve his goal of winning the seat he wants to occupy in Somalia.

The election is taking place at the Villa Hargeisa Center in Mogadishu, where members of the two houses of the Federal Parliament – the House of Representatives and the Upper House – have gathered to vote and elect members representing Somalia.
