The United States for the first time in its country provided a military base to the government of Qatar to train the air force, in the state of Idaho.
The US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made the announcement during a visit by Qatar’s defense minister, said the facility to be built at the Mountain Home Air Force Base would host a contingent of Qatari F-15s and pilots to enhance our combined training, increase the lethality, interoperability.
The report added that President Donald Trump approved this project after the Doha (Qatar) gifted him a very expensive luxury plane, and promised him the construction of a large tourist park estimated at billions of dollars, which was part of trade and defense agreements between the two countries.
Qatar already has a large military base in the United States in Al-Udeid, which is the main base of the US Air Force in the Middle East, but this is the first time that an Arab country has established a military base in the United States.
The agreement represented the further warming of ties between Washington and Doha and came less than two weeks after US President Donald Trump signed an executive order committing the US to defend Qatar if it came under attack.
