Mogadishu, October 07, 2025: The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in collaboration with international partners, carried out a planned operation last night in the Basra area of the Middle Shabelle region.
During the operation, seven individuals including key leaders and militants of the Al Shabab group were killed, while three others were wounded after their hideout was directly targeted.
The operation was launched after receiving confirmed intelligence that the Al Shabab were planning to carry out security-disrupting activities between Mogadishu and Balcad.
Approximately 40 militants were being prepared at the targeted location, and the operation successfully destroyed the tent where they were hiding.
The operation concluded successfully, with NISA forces fully thwarting the Al Shabab’s planned terrorist activities. No civilian casualties were reported during the mission.
