Mogadishu, October 4, 2025 – In a significant development in the fight against terrorism, the Somali National Army (SNA), in coordination with Ugandan Defense Forces under the AUSOM mission, launched a joint military operation early this morning in the Awdheegle district of the Lower Shabelle region.

The operation, codenamed “Silent Storm,” is aimed at clearing the area of Al-Shabaab militants who have been using the region as a hideout.
