Somali Police Arrest Seven Youths Over Dangerous Acts in Stadium

The Somali Police Command announced that the police, especially those from the Warta-Nabada district station, have arrested seven youths, who were accused of committing acts that threatened their lives and the community.

Recently, social media has captured videos of young people, who are believed to be under 20 years old, who are using knives in the stadium, filming videos while playing with it which endangers their lives and that of the public.

The Banadir Regional Police Chief, Mr. Mahdi Omar Muumin, in his facebook page said , “The police station of the Warta-Nabad district has arrested seven young people, who committed actions that endanger their lives and harm the society.”

“Daggers, knives, and the like are prohibited in stadiums and other public places. Anyone found committing an act that endangers himself or others will be dealt with according to the law,” added General Mahdi.

The Police Command said that security operations have been strengthened, and measures have been taken to prevent young people from trying to create acts that could endanger public safety and public security in the capital of Mogadishu.
