President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have announced a new peace proposal aimed at ending the war in Gaza, urging Hamas to accept the terms or face consequences.
The plan calls for an immediate ceasefire, with Hamas releasing 20 Israeli hostages and returning the bodies of over 20 others within 72 hours. In return, Israel would release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
A Palestinian source said that Hamas has been briefed on a 20-point proposal from the White House. A key condition would exclude Hamas from any future administration of Gaza, potentially paving the way for a fully recognized Palestinian state.
Both leaders stressed the urgency of the proposal, calling it a rare opportunity for peace. Hamas has not yet issued an official response.
