President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, chaired a High-Level Event on the financing of the AUSSOM, held on the sidelines of the 80th Session of the UNGA in New York.
The event, co-hosted by the Somalia, the AU, the UN, and the UK, aimed to mobilise financial commitments from international partners to address critical mission needs.
It also served to reinforce collaboration between Somalia, the AU, and donor partners on shared priorities and accountability mechanisms.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to a responsible and sustainable security transition, rooted in Somali ownership and leadership, while underscoring the essential role of international partners in consolidating peace, stability, and long-term resilience.
