The Federal Government of Somalia strongly condemns actions that undermined the security of the capital, perpetrated by a group of politicians who attempted to forcibly take over the police station in Warta Nabadda District of Mogadishu.

The Government of Somalia is deeply concerned that politicians with ambitions for power would attempt to spill the blood of citizens and confront the Armed Forces, who are engaged in defending the country and combating terrorism.

The Somali Government condemns today’s events at the Warta Nabadda District police station and holds accountable those individuals who instigated the attack and exploited political instability to disturb law and order.

The Government of Somalia calls on power-seeking politicians to refrain from any actions that could disrupt public security, and to adhere to the laws and the constitution of the country.

Finally, the Federal Government of Somalia reaffirms its commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting public safety, and it will hold accountable anyone who violates national security.
