The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, participated in a special meeting focused on the recognition of the Palestinian Authority.
During the meeting, he praised the countries that have recognized the Palestinian state, describing their stance as both correct and courageous.
President Mohamud reaffirmed Somalia’s long-standing position of supporting the Palestinian people and government. He highlighted that Somalia was among the first countries to officially recognize the State of Palestine and has consistently backed efforts aimed at achieving a fully independent Palestinian state.
The Somali government emphasized that a strong and recognized Palestinian government is essential for the stability of the Middle East and the protection of the rights of a people facing significant challenges.
Somalia reiterated its commitment to standing in solidarity with the Palestinian cause and advocating for international support to address their ongoing struggles.
