The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, congratulated the Somali people on the occasion of October 12, which is marked as Somali Flag Day.
He described October 12 as a memorable and honorable day marked by unity, nationalism and the long struggle of the Somali people for freedom.
Also Prime Minister of the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, has sent his congratulations to all the Somali people on the celebration of the Flag Day which coincided with October 12.
He said that today is a valuable day for the Somali nation, as it coincides with the day in 1954 when Somalia flag was raised as a symbol of independence, solidarity and unity of the Somali nation.
They both urged the Somali people to strengthen their unity, solidarity and peace, in order to ensure Somalia is free from terrorism and prosperity for its people.
