The Lebanese military said that an airstrike from Israel killed two soldiers and wounded three others, hours after the Israeli military bombed a base of the UN peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon.
However Lebanese army is not part of the war between Israel and Hezbollah .
In a statement from the Lebanese military on Friday, it was said that the soldiers who were killed were at a checkpoint in the south of Bint Jubeyl region, where a targeted missile hitted.
Also on Friday Israel targeted the UNIFIL army base, the officials confirmed that two peacekeeping soldiers were injured , it is now the second time the Israel army is targting the base.
The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Western countries condemned the attacks and describe the attack as a ”serious” and said the security of UN personnel and assets must be guaranteed.
UNIFIL consists of about 10,000 peacekeeping troops and other personnel from about 50 countries, most of them from Indonesia, India, Ghana, Nepal, Italy, Malaysia, Spain, France, China and Ireland.
