Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, speaking from Dhusamareb, addressed key national issues including electoral reforms towards a one-person-one-vote system, proposed constitutional amendments, and the strained dialogue between the government and opposition groups.

He openly criticized the opposition coalition known as the Reform Forum, arguing that they bear the responsibility for the ongoing deadlock in political negotiations. According to him, their rigid stance has made it difficult to achieve mutual understanding and progress.

The president particularly highlighted disputes over Chapter Four of the constitution, noting that earlier meetings with the opposition yielded no results. While the government showed flexibility by agreeing to return certain articles to parliament for further debate, he accused the opposition of insisting on their immediate approval before discussing other matters—an approach he described as unsustainable for meaningful dialogue.
