Jubaland Vice President, Mahmoud Sayid Aden, who provided details on the ongoing conflict in Beled hawo district of Gedo region, said that this conflict is being pushed by Egypt and Eritrea using Villa Somalia.

“Gedo region has been handed over to the views of Egypt and Eritrea and is a means to bring our region into the conflicts of other countries,” said Jubbaland Vice President Mahmoud Sayid Adan.

Mahmoud Sayid Adan also said that Beled Hawo district will not be left out of Jubaland’s control, and they will return it soon, in order to maintain security and stability in the area, which indicates that Jubaland forces are preparing for a counterattack, as Beled Hawo has already been captured.

The statement comes at a time of ongoing conflict between the Jubaland administration and the federal government of Somalia, which has led to the government describing Jubaland as an unrecognized and illegitimate administration.
