More than 200 households have left their homes in fear and heavy gunfire in their neighborhoods who are mostly women, children and the elderly in the past few hours in Baled-Hawa .

Some of the displaced people have now been accommodated in schools that have been converted into temporary camps, while others have been staying with relatives who were already in Mandera town.

Mandera County authorities have begun registering the displaced people for emergency assistance, noting that the situation is a humanitarian emergency that requires urgent action.

The people displaced are facing Homelessness, Food shortages, Water shortages and Limited healthcare.

The fighting has caused casualties, the extent of which has not yet been confirmed. There has been no immediate word from the warring parties as Communications in the city have been disrupted.
