The Puntland administration, in a statement issued last night, denied and said it deeply saddened by the letter from the Federal Government of Somalia, which stated that Puntland was a PIRATE that hijacked a ship.
The press release stated that the Puntland coast guards seized a vessel called MV SEA WORLD after it had been wandering off the coast of Bareeda in the Bari region for some time and preventing the assets on board from falling into the hands of the public.
Puntland also said that Mogadishu businessmen and the Turkish Ambassador contacted them and informed them of the cargo on board.
The Puntland government has confirmed that all cargo on board the MV SEA WORLD is military equipment, and does not contain anything that appears to be commercial goods, which refutes the news released by the Federal Government of Somalia.
