Mogadishu,23july 2025; The Federal Government of Somalia has issued an official press release condemning the hijacking and violation of the Comoros-flagged ship SEA WORLD, which was seized by Puntland and was heading to the Port of Mogadishu carrying military equipment for the TÜRKSOM Military Training Center.
The Federal Government of Somalia Demands the immediate and unconditional release of the vessel, as it is carrying a legitimate cargo for defense purposes, which is essential to ensuring the security and stability of the country, including Puntland .
Also the federal government warns Puntland of the continuation of all illegal activities taking place off the coasts of its jurisdiction, and Reaffirms its commitment to preventing acts of piracy and prosecuting individuals and groups involved in piracy, in accordance with national and international criminal law.
