The United States for the first time imposed sanctions on Cuba’s president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, due to his role in what the United States has described as Cuba’s government’s violence against its people.
The Cuba President together with Senior officials have been banned from entering the United States.
Cuba’s Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, reacted angrily to that, saying the United States has no power to undermine the will of the Cuban people or their leaders.
This report was announced by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, four years after the massive protests on the island, which resulted in hundreds of people being arrested.
