Mogadishu, Thursday 03 July, 2025: —The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hamsa Abdi Barre, has concluded training for officers, deputy officers and units of the Somali National Army’s Eagle Force, who have received various training courses in Turkey and the Turkish Military Training College (TurkSom).
The prime minister said that the government of Somalia is working on building a national army that is complete with knowledge and good leadership, to ensure the goals of governance, which is the base for building the armed forces of Somalia.
Mr. Hamsa has pointed out that defending the country and its freedom is the first priority that the army has, therefore the Somali soldier has special dignity and privilege.
“The Somali army are the backbone of strong and self-sufficient governance, therefore you should take the responsibility, you should be ready to free our country from the enemy and bring back the value, dignity and unity of the Somali people”. Said Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre.
The prime minister, who gave advice to the trained army, said that these chapters will play a big role in the efforts of the government to ensure the security of the country and fighting against the Al Shabab groups which are obstacles to the security and unity of our country.
Prime minister Hamsa, thanked the government of Turkey for their efforts and support to the Somali people and government.
