The president of Tunisia, Qais Saeed, won the presidential election that took place on Sunday in the country who held his first term in office in 2019 and changed the constitution, dissolved the parliament and jailed the opposition, Qays now retains power in the country.

Qais Saeed was announced winner on Monday with more than 90.7% of the votes on Sunday ,as reported by the Electoral Commission of this North African country .

Qays won the election against two contested candidates, namely Zuheyr Magzawi, who was once an ally, but turned into an opponent, and Ayash Zaamel, who participated in the election while imprisoned.

In a speech he made at the headquarters of his election campaign, the 66-year-old said that he eliminate all corruption and spoilers from the country and promised to protect Tunisia from internal and external threats.
