The new Commander of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Mahad Mohamed Salad, is set to officially assume office today, taking over from the former NISA Commander, Abdullahi Mohamed Ali (Sanbaloolshe), who held the position for a short period of time , following a handover ceremony in Mogadishu.
Mahad Salad, who was the director in the year 2022-2023 served for 2 years, before being replaced in mid-2024.
The handover comes at a time the country is facing security problems from the Al Shabab militias which the armies have been fighting to eliminate them.
The handover ceremony is expected to be attended by senior Federal Government officials, military officers, and other dignitaries, amid heightened security alert.
