The Federal Government of Somalia has demanded the abolition of the international community group known as C6+, which deals with international affairs.
The letter, which was circulated to James Swan, stated that the C6+ role was initially intended for the Somalis during the transitional period when government institutions were still in their infancy, but now that the government is fully functioning, there is no reason for the international community to play a direct role in domestic politics.
The Somali government has said that these circumstances do not exist today, and that there is a need to change the way the international community deals with Somalia.
