Floods kill 110, damaged 50 houses in Nigeria.

At least 110 people have died in floods caused by heavy rains in central Nigeria, the rain which lasted for several hours, according to the head of the regional relief agency, Abdullahi Baba-Arah.

The floods caused a damage that submerged about 50 residential houses, especially in the town of Mokwa.

The government of Nigeria said it was saddened by the flood damage, saying security and aid agencies had been dispatched to the area to assist with search and rescue efforts.
