Last night the opposition’s held meeting at the Jazeera Hotel, where they issued a statement regarding the situation in the country, accusing the President of working towards disintegration and unilateralism, thereby undermining the political agreements that were the basis of the country’s Third Republic.
The Forum also underlined the need to face the war against the terrorist groups of ISIS and Daesh, and to fully support the government, in order to save the existence of the country , while at the same time holding the government’s leadership accountable for the poor strategy of the war, neglect and lack of care for the self-sacrificing heroes of the Somali National Army and fighters in various areas.
The statement also expressed strong concern about the expired terms of the Galmudug, Hirshabelle, and Southwest states, describing the extension of the terms and joining the president’s party as illegal measures related to the desire for term extension.
