At least 5 people were killed and 8 others were injured in an Israeli airstrike on a building in the center of Beirut, Lebanon, according to the country’s authorities.
In this multi-storey building in Bashurah District, there is a medical center linked to Hezbollah.
It is the first bombing that Israel has carried out near the center of Beirut, a few meters away from the Lebanese parliament.
This comes after the Israeli military said eight soldiers were killed in southern Lebanon, and said it was their first defeat since the start of Israel’s ground offensive against Lebanon.
Also Hizbullah claimed to have destroyed tanks belonging to the Israeli forces during the fighting, while Hizbullah insisted that it had men and weapons to push back the Israeli forces
