The Somalia Ministry of Defence announced that it is removing from the military list all s.ecurity forces of some opposition politicians who were seen in Mogadishu yesterday, who were heavily escorting opposition officials.
Minister of Defense Omar Ali Abdi, who spoke to the media, clarified that this decision is to strengthen the order of the armed forces and protect the rules governing the use of the national army.
“The armed forces should not be part of political issues, and should be used in accordance with the constitution and military law,” said the Minister of State.
Also the government warned the military against taking personal orders from politicians who are not part of the government, which it says poses a security and legal threat.
