Kenya Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Facing impeachment process

Members of the Kenyan parliament are expected to pass a motion to impeach the country’s vice president, Rigathi Gachagua, in the next few hours.

The elected leader of the majority in the parliament from the Kikuyu area, , Kimani Ichung’wah, confirmed that the motion against Gachagua will be brought before the parliament in due course.

Reports says that already 302 MPs have already signed the motion where 233 MPs are need in order for the motion to take place.

The vice president has been accused of violating Articles 10 ,147, 148, 174, 186 and 189 of the country’s constitution which is said to lead to incitement and public hatred that deal with the behavior and responsibilities of the vice president.

The DP will also defend himself against allegations of corruption and misuse of taxpayers’ money.
