The Sudanese government has filed a complaint with the Federal Government of Somalia against the Puntland administration, alleging that Puntland is providing strategic and logistical support to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a militia widely accused of human rights abuses and war crimes in Sudan.

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the airport in Bosaso has become a point of supply for the RSF to use to supply groups fighting in Sudan.

Sudan has made it clear that Puntland’s support for RSF is seen as a serious threat to Sudan’s national security and will damage relations between the two countries.

Puntland’s Information Minister, Mahmoud Eydiid Diriir, when asked by local media about the accusation, dismissed it as baseless, while the Sudanese government dismissed his denial as misleading.
